Silver Birch Class will be sharing in Collective Worship on Friday, 21st September, 8.55am.

“We are so pleased with our child’s progress this year.  We know how hard he has been trying and the improvements have been massive in both his work and confidence.  The proactive approach and the willingness to appreciate each child’s individual learning is a great achievement for the school and particularly his class teacher.  The support provided has enabled my child to feel proud of themself and their work.  For this, as a family, we are so thankful and appreciate its future importance to our child.”  Parent summer 2016

“Topcliffe is a very welcoming and friendly school.  My child enjoys coming to school and has benefitted from great teaching and support in his school life so far.”  Parent summer 2016

“When our child returned to school in September with a broken leg, we believe the school did a fantastic job of catering for our child’s additional needs and ensuring she was included in the class.  We are very grateful to the staff and children who contributed to making our child feel safe, cared for and happy during this unsettled time.  We are pleased with our child’s progression in all areas of her development and we are delighted that her confidence continues to flourish  due to the range of different experiences she takes part in including the school nativity and the recent story writing competition.  Our child enjoys attending the events organised by FOTS such as the Film Club and school disco.  We feel the school has a great open doors policy where parents are encouraged to come and talk about any issues/concerns.  The straight out of the classroom newsletters, text updates and website keeps us well informed about what is happening in school and helps us to have discussions at home with our child about their learning.  We also found the SPAG workshop for parents relevant and informative.  It is great that our child can frequently change their reading book.  The Reading, Spelling & Homework Diary and the Homework book is an effective method of communication and encourages us to continue our child’s learning at home.  Another great strength of the school is the link/partnership between school and Topcliffe Pre-School Playgroup which nurtures transition from pre-school into reception.”  Parent summer 2016

“We like the varied and interesting curriculum that my child benefits from.  In Class two, topic work has been used with great skill to re-enforce the literacy and maths learning throughout the year.  Our child is doing very well at school and is encouraged to behave well and have a positive attitude and be ready for learning each day.”  Parent summer 2016

“My child has really enjoyed her first year at school.  She has learnt loads and at all times felt happy and safe.”  Parent summer 2016

“Reading our child’s report just shows me how much you actually know her and her personality.  Our child has come on leaps and bounds this year.  She loves coming to school and always talks about things she has learnt.  She was not hugely confident at the start of the year and her self-confidence has really got better.  The hours put in after school by staff to create areas and give the children variety has really been noted by myself and my husband.  You could not have given our child a better start to school life.”  Parent summer 2016

“As a family we were really pleased when our child received a place at Topcliffe School.  Although it isn’t our closest school it outshone the others.  Working in schools as a teacher, I thoroughly appreciate the wonderful and hardworking staff.  They have ensured our child has had a magical first year.  Thank you all!”  Parent summer 2016

“Topcliffe School has a real family feel and this nurturing environment has aided my child to grow and develop in all areas of school.  The teaching staff are wonderful.  My child has really enjoyed being in their class this year.  As a parent I am very grateful for all the hard work and kindness shown by staff.  I am delighted with my child’s SAT results and hope he continues this progress in the next class.”  Parent summer 2016

“My child really enjoys going to the school.  The teachers are very friendly and helpful.”  Parent summer 2016

“We chose Topcliffe CE Primary because it is a strong Church of England school where children are nurtured and cared for in a safe environment.  We have not been disappointed.  Our child is happy to come to school, has lots of friends and feels so encouraged by all the staff and headteacher.  Thank you!”  Parent summer 2016
