Welcome to Willow Class

We are a class of Reception and Year One children. We use our indoor and outdoor classrooms to encourage the children to explore and learn through first hand experiences. We are keen to know what the children have been learning at home too.

We enjoy singing, dancing and PE and record learning across all areas of the EYFS in photographic learning journeys.

Our teacher is Miss Somerville, and she is supported by Mrs Whatley and Mrs Kildin. We focus on teaching the children Phonics and Maths alongside supporting children’s learning across the EYFS areas of learning and the National curriculum subjects through topic-based provision activities.

Our topics and activities respond to the children’s interests and special events and we love having visitors in our classroom too! We also go on trips to support topic learning about the wider world, and have enjoyed trips to a Mosque, Gudwara, Harlow Carr and Big Sheep Little Cow in previous years.

  • Please take magic moments forms from the parent board to fill in about your child’s learning at home.
  • Please read regularly at home using school reading books and story books
  • Practise phonics sounds in your child’s Speed sounds book
  • Check the newsletter for key dates and requests for help
